For many Veterans, public lands serve as a source of recreation, as well as a reminder of the great freedom our country represents. This is especially true for the Boundary Waters, one of the most treasured yet contested areas in our public lands system—perpetually threatened by corporate interests and mining proposals. Fortunately, more and more defenders of the Boundary Waters, like David, are dedicated to protecting this national treasure.
