Join a Volunteer Team

Focused on education, advocacy, outreach, and of course a love of the Boundary Waters, teams are made up of dedicated, and fun-loving volunteers that are passionately fighting to protect our favorite Wilderness. Of course, this work is often done over pints of beer, or hot cups of coffee, and always ends with a discussion over favorite BWCA lakes. You'll help with:

  • Tabling at events
  • Phonebanking
  • Letters to the Editor
  • Meeting with lawmaker(s)/staffers
  • Partnering with local businesses to host educational events, lectures, and happy hours
  • Meet-ups with local Boundary Waters enthusiasts!

Ambassadors are a crucial part of the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters and they work closely with Campaign staff to develop and strengthen a team of volunteers. These teams then use efficient and strategic democratic tactics aligned with overarching Campaign goals that will educate and activate people within their areas. This helps us build the people power that we need to protect the Boundary Waters! All Ambassadors are trained to:

  • Take a stand for the Boundary Waters
  • Interact and advocate for a healthy Boundary Waters
  • Meet with elected officials and land management agencies
  • Utilize grassroots organizing techniques
  • Lead, communicate, and lobby
