HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES SWITCHBOARD: (202) 225-3121
You will need to name your representative or provide your zip code
Late Monday, Jan 12, Rep. Pete Stauber introduced Joint Resolution 140, which would overturn the 20-year mining ban in the Boundary Waters watershed. This is urgent. If passed, it would erase current protections, reopen the door to sulfide-ore copper mining near the Boundary Waters, and block future administrations from using the same safeguards.

SCRIPT:
My name is [Name] from [City], [STATE].
I’m calling to tell Rep. [REP NAME] to vote NO on H.J. Resolution 140 and protect the Boundary Waters.
The Boundary Waters is America’s most visited Wilderness, and a place I value and want to see protected. This resolution would open up the headwaters to toxic copper mining by a foreign company.
Once again, I’m asking Rep. [REP NAME] to stand up for public lands by protecting the Boundary Waters and vote NO on H.J. Resolution 140.
Thank you.
