Are you in the process of spring cleaning? Look for new gear for paddling season? Then you're in luck because the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters is hosting an online Garage Sale!

Donate your slightly used gear to Save the Boundary and help us raise some money while finding your gear a new home! In the near future we will be holding an online garage sale of previously owned outdoor gear.

ONLINE SALE:

Get gear for your next outdoor adventure and support the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters! We will price all the items low compared to their value, and have small bidding increments. There will also be a “buy now” price, so if you would prefer not to bid but just buy it for an outright price, that is also an option.

Date: June 25th-July 2nd

FAQ's

Can I mail the gear I want to donate?
If you are unable to drop off your gear during the drop off days and times, please email alyssa@savetheboundarywaters.org and she will help to coordinate with you.

How will I receive my item if I win?
When you register on Givesmart (the site the sale will be on) you will be prompted to enter your shipping address. Once the sale officially closes, we will begin the process of mailing out items to the purchasers.

Do you accept large items (like a canoe)?
These types of items that cannot be shipped easily will be looked at on a case by case basis. Please do not bring them to any drop off location! We do not have the capacity to store or transport large items, so they will have to be a local-pick up type of scenario. Please email alyssa@savetheboundarywaters.org to sort out details.

Is this an auction?
Kind of! We will price all the items very low compared to their value, and have very small bidding increments. There will also be a “buy now” price, so if you would prefer not to bid but just buy it for an outright price, that is also an option.

Is this Garage Sale in person?
No; This will be held online through the platform Givesmart

Do you accept clothing?
Yes; however, it should be outdoor type clothing that is in good condition. Please do not bring clothes that have an odor to them,  have holes in them, or have stains on them. *Please wash clothes before donating*

Do you accept climbing gear or safety equipment?
No; Climbing gear can be a large liability if not bought new, and we don’t want to risk that. Same goes for safety equipment like first aid kits or life jackets.

Will the drop-offs be social distance compliant?
Yes! In the Twin Cities, those who are collecting the items will wear masks and gloves, and we ask those dropping off items to wear masks as well. There will be a table for you to set your items on and we will retrieve them from the other side. Those collecting will also have clipboards and pens where they will ask you a few questions and write down information about the items being donated. Gear will be sanitized once it is received!
