Recapping Grandma’s Marathon weekend

Grandma's Marathon Weekend 2026

On June 20, 2026, runners from across the country gathered in Duluth, Minnesota, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Grandma's Marathon. 150 of them chose to dedicate their training and race to something bigger than the finish line: permanent protection for the watershed of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

As members of Team Save the Boundary Waters, our runners dedicated their training, fundraising, and race-day efforts to protecting the BWCA for future generations. Together, they raised more than $110,000 to support our work to permanently protect Canoe Country!

Whether they were first-time marathoners, seasoned runners chasing a new personal best, or supporters inspired by their love for the Boundary Waters, each member of our team made an incredible impact. Their commitment, determination, and generosity continue to inspire us.

To every runner, donor, volunteer, and supporter who made this unforgettable weekend possible: thank you. We couldn't do this without you, and we're so grateful to have you on our team.
