A quarter million comments sent for the Boundary Waters

The 90-day comment period ended yesterday, and because of YOU, we delivered a RECORD-BREAKING number of public comments to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management supporting the proposed 20-year ban on mining near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

Thank you for being a part of this record-breaking public comment period! Incredibly, with your help and with the help of partner organizations, businesses, and the vast community of Boundary Waters supporters, we delivered just under a QUARTER OF A MILLION comments advocating for the protection of the Boundary Waters. This is a significant success for the future of our favorite Wilderness!

Not to mention, as part of this public comment period, the government-held three public listening sessions, and at these sessions, pro-Boundary Waters speakers outnumbered pro-sulfide-ore copper mining speakers by more than 2 to 1!

Thank you for heeding the call and participating so enthusiastically in this comment period. You are on the winning side of history.

"This outpouring of support is a clear indication of where the American people stand when it comes to protecting America's most visited Wilderness."

 - Becky Rom, National Chair of the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters
